Scotland supporters have a new song to add to the football playlist with “Saltire (Tartan Army),” the latest single from Rodeo Terrorists. Released on 27th March 2026, the track is built for big chants, shared laughs and the emotional highs and lows that come with following the national team.

The single was created by Richard, a 55-year-old English IT manager whose love of Scotland goes back many years. Having studied in the country, he describes it as feeling like a second home. That affection sits at the centre of the song, which approaches Scottish football culture with humour, warmth and respect.

“Saltire (Tartan Army)” was written quickly during a work break, reportedly in just half an hour. Its sound brings together Celtic-inspired melodies, electronic rhythms and punchy pop-rock elements, giving it the feel of a modern terrace anthem. The comparison to The Waterboys and New Order’s “World In Motion” points to its mix of folk spirit and football-pop energy.

Alongside the fun, the release has a serious purpose. Richard plans to use the song to support MND Scotland and honour the memory of a close friend who died from Motor Neurone Disease. With its mix of comedy, pride and compassion, “Saltire (Tartan Army)” aims to prove that football songs can still be joyful while carrying real meaning.
