An Armistice Day launch and possible live appearances will form part of the campaign for Stu Mendelson’s forthcoming single, ‘We’re Still Here’. The original track is scheduled for release at 11:00am on 11 November 2026, with activity continuing through November and December as the former British soldier aims for the Christmas No.1 spot.
A potential performance at The Muster Point’s Remembrance Guard of Honour at Stevenage War Memorial on 7 November is being considered, but remains subject to confirmation. Further opportunities are being explored for appearances alongside Chicksands and Henlow Military Wives Choirs at their Christmas events. Members of those choirs feature on the recording with veterans from The Muster Point in Hertfordshire and Veterans in Crisis Sunderland.
Mendelson has written, composed and arranged the single, taken on lead vocals and personally funded and organised its creation. The former Royal Engineer was seriously injured in Afghanistan in 2009 and later experienced PTSD, mental health difficulties and addiction. After becoming clean and sober in 2023, he co-founded The Muster Point to help veterans build friendships, reduce isolation and find support. Music has since become another means of expressing his experiences and connecting with others.
The song recognises that the Christmas period can intensify feelings of loss and loneliness, offering a message centred on community rather than facing hardship alone. Money generated by the release will help support the participating choirs, The Muster Point and Veterans in Crisis Sunderland. While any live appearances remain to be confirmed, the recording itself brings those communities together to remind listeners that support for veterans and their families matters throughout the year.
