Cole dedicated this album to his mother, who was battling dementia, and made monthly trips to Kiama, his hometown on the New South Wales South Coast. These trips, along with the breakdown of his marriage and eventual return to his hometown, served as inspiration for the album’s poignant and heartfelt songs.
