Singer, songwriter, and pianist Judith Owen has released her new single, “That’s Why I Love My Baby,” out now as of 20th February 2026. The track is the first release from her upcoming album, due later this spring.

Following the global success of Come On And Get It — described by The Times as “one of the most joyous releases of the year” — Owen returns with a song that feels both smart and heartfelt. Her new single continues to showcase her talent for honest storytelling and sharp songwriting.

A Smart, Honest Take on Modern Love

Written with Judith Owen’s trademark humour, “That’s Why I Love My Baby” is a tongue-in-cheek reflection on radically accepting your partner exactly as they are, rather than how you might wish them to be. The song playfully challenges traditional romantic clichés while landing on a refreshingly grounded truth about real relationships.

The song was inspired by her husband’s dislike of traditional “Hallmark holidays,” including Valentine’s Day. Instead of celebrating one perfect day, the track reminds listeners that love shows itself in everyday actions.

“It’s a tongue in cheek song about radically accepting who your partner is, as opposed to how you’d like them to be, born out of my husband’s utter disdain for ‘Hallmark’ holidays such as Valentine’s Day! It took me years to stop being a drama queen every Feb 14th, and see the bigger picture, that it’s how someone treats you 364 days of the year that counts, not just one!”

With “That’s Why I Love My Baby,” Judith Owen delivers a charming reminder that love is built on understanding, consistency, and genuine care. It’s a song that feels honest, relatable, and timeless.
